Friday 13th (seemed appropriate for golf) of July saw the 8th annual Trade Paints Charity Golf Day … and we’re very pleased to say, it was the biggest and best yet!

Fifty six players were neatly split into 14 teams of 4, ready to do battle. Once again (for the 8th year running!) we were incredibly lucky with the weather, and despite a little shower on the 1st tee, all was calm (weatherwise) for the day.

Among the usual shouts of “FOUR” and “Another beer please!” there was some very good golf played- if not going by the longest drive positions then by the fact that we had 2 eagles on the score cards!!

After a nice meat-feast and chips, and the usual chaotic prize giving, the highlight of the day unfolded- the putt-off for £100 prize money in the yellow ball comp!! It was nail biting stuff, with Ian of team Rileys (and nerves of steel!) emerging triumphant.

A massive congratulations to the 2012 overall champions, Colours Decorating! Your name is being engraved as I type! Also a big thank you to everyone who took part- hopefully it was enjoyed by all … if not, at least we raised some much appreciated (see letter) funds for a very worthy cause!

Hope to see you again next year! … and also hope to show you some pics next time (alas, due to a technical fault beyond our control we don’t have any for this year).

Peter.
